Reasons for the Competition

1. To help launch the career of worthy young performing artists.

2. To broaden the awareness of and increase interest in the activities of the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra Association.

3. This competition is known as an "area" competition. This means that piano instructors in colleges and universities in the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan will be sent this form for their student's consideration.

4. If a prospective entrant is studying piano in another state but is a resident of one of the above-mentioned states, that person is eligible.

This is the most important!!
